2010 is our 20th anniversary!
It’s also a year of celebrating our achievements, of course, but twenty years is very little compared to the infinite sources of inspiration remaining to be explored in dance…2010, a year of renewal, development, and coming closer together.
More and more human
This is the direction where we are heading. It’s the center of our art, the heart of our approach, and our primary preoccupation. Both 2010 and even 2011 will be years for creation and experimentation where human experience and proximity with our public will be the preferred places of discovery.
Performing often and everywhere
Our next project, temporarily called, Série Solos, will be created from a broad working canvas where a number of solos will be developed using several different dancers. Out of the pool of new pieces, we will put together various short sequences of presentations that are custom fit for the performing spaces, the circumstances, and the public. Our work will begin this August during an artistic residency in Rimouski and continue through the year.
Creating with you, for you, and, why not, by you.
Improvisation in dance is often an extraordinary tool for creating rough choreographic material. Inspiration and improvisational parameters can be derived from words, sentences, images, objects, music, or a combination of these elements. Why not inspire us?
How does it work?
Make a donation to the company and we will use your suggestion during the creation process. All you need to do is fill out the attached coupon and send it to us with the information concerning your proposition: a word, sentence, object, music, etc. We can’t promise that your inspiration will fit directly in the final performance, but we can assure you that we will let you know how we integrate or transform your idea within the project.
The parameters
Be creative! Go with what inspires you. Images can come from photos, an illustration, a painting that you would like to suggest or loan to us as inspiration. Sentences can be brief citations, a proverb or even something of your own invention. Objects can be from your everyday world or an artistic one: (sculpture, mobile, etc). Include your instructions or contact us.
